A while back I joined in with
Sow.Give.Grow. I was a little disheartened that nobody replied to say that they collected my seeds, and I got busy, so I hadn't Given any more seeds. The other day I sorted out my seeds ready for winter planting and put away the seeds that I saved over summer. I realised that once again I have far too many seeds, so it was time to give some away again. It was fun making up the little envelopes and hoping that this time someone will let me know that they appreciate them!

This time I only gave seeds that I saved that can be planted at the moment, spring onions, marigolds, broccoli, and silver beet. I put beans and parsley seeds in envelopes ready to give away in spring. That way they won't sit around unused and forgotten or get planted at the wrong time of year. More on
saving seeds and
planting seeds.
I left two sets of seeds on notice boards around Nanango. This is a great way to give away seeds or seedlings and you don't have to be in Australia, just download the envelopes and leave the seeds somewhere. Send pics and some info the the Sow.Give.Grow people and wait and see if anyone replies.

This is a great idea and a thrifty way of adding to ones seed stock.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you say you download the envelope from?
I would so like to do this!
Hi everyone, you should join in, its great fun. I put the link in wrong, it should have been http://www.sowgivegrow.org/
ReplyDeleteThe envelopes are on there and you can tell them when you've left some seeds or plants around and they'll put up a post about it on their website. Cheers, Liz
