Added you to bloglovin and aiming to keep digging around some of the older posts. I'm a Canadian married to an Aussie and we lived in Hervey Bay for 8 years or so, so I know the area! We are currently debating homesteading style back in Oz or here, so I am glad to read of your experiences. My biggest fear with choosing oz is of course the critters....Annethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05277567837590067506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9027191706980748713.post-15829335409984572512016-04-05T21:20:15.054+10:002016-04-05T21:20:15.054+10:00Lovely and newsy post Liz. Gus is adorable and will be a fabulous dog for you I feel sure. How is Taz adapting to her new playmate? Love the colour of your beautiful Queenslander home. You will be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel by now. I'm so very pleased for you that you've returned to live back at home. It's been just over a year since I did a four week detox (guided by my Naturopath) The first three days were hell with headaches and joint pains, but after that it was surprisingly easy. It boosted my immune system and I've been super well ever since. I firmly believe that many ailments are caused from poor diet or an imbalance of the gut bacteria. Cheers and thanks for your lovely post.Jembella Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07646075804716647311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9027191706980748713.post-37625712238503699162016-04-05T18:36:16.488+10:002016-04-05T18:36:16.488+10:00I have seen charcoal soap on Pinterest, Liz. I would like to try the honey and oat soap as one of the DTE forum members made a batch and it looks just lovely. It has a beautiful colour caused by the honey I dare say. You certainly managed to keep up with a lot of things while doing that though. kudos to you! I recently did a whole30 where you eliminate all dairy, legumes, sugar, grains, soy, etc. Then you can slowly add them back into your diet (if you want to) to see how they affect you. It was an interesting exercise and I have kept a lot of their awesome reicpes in my regular recipe roll. The one thing I took away from that was weekly meal planning and precooking a lot of things over the weekend so that during the week food prep is not so bad. I just planted out some more tatsoi - you sent me some seeds ages ago and it has become one of my faovurite things to grow.africanaussiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16660727599623626163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9027191706980748713.post-40853996404591120742016-04-04T09:46:35.884+10:002016-04-04T09:46:35.884+10:00Hi Liz. Things have been pretty slow here over Easter (just as I like it) with the finishing off of some craft and sewing projects. Waiting for cooler days to plant out some seedlings in main veggie bed. Got some clumping leeks to try as well as usual silverbeet, beetroot, lettuce and other deliciousness. I have to get myself a choko. I love them but I haven't grown one yet. You must be glad to be working locally again. We are still waiting to sell our other house in Boonah but we are starting to plan for working this place. We currently have sheep and chooks, but will be getting ducks and pigs in the near future and currently agist our neighbours' cattle so we may get some of our own when/if prices ever come down! Its a big project for us. All the best. Barb.Barbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15511242657757784812noreply@blogger.com
