Thanks for sharing your tale, though I'll have to make sure my husband doesn't read this and realise that it might not be as easy as I keep telling him it will be...<br />ChristineAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9027191706980748713.post-62077584778433140272013-10-17T05:28:20.141+10:002013-10-17T05:28:20.141+10:00My tiny house is 12x14ft, however it is 14ft tall ...My tiny house is 12x14ft, however it is 14ft tall (4.26m). To capture as much heat as possible, we ran 3m worth of pipe straight up out of the firebox before it juts out the wall and above the roof. Works great for drafting and keeping smoke out!The Stay @ Home-Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06102175625149771801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9027191706980748713.post-62379003557704556342012-05-30T06:31:13.668+10:002012-05-30T06:31:13.668+10:00Hi. We've had a small leak from the holes we had to cut through the ceiling and then the roof (we have a loft space between), which my husband is a bit confounded by. Such a shame as its caused some rust. We are only heating a 9x5m footprint house (half that space again in the 2nd story loft) so have no trouble keeping warm. In fact, often too warm! We've found the quality of the wood makes all the difference - last winter i couldn't get the fire to burn through till morning even after clearing flue etc, whereas first and third winter it's no problem at all. Our parents had same wood and mentioned same problem. I've just discovered your blog and will be back for sure. Seems we have some common goals. Cheers!
